New clubhouse opening, July 2019
10K Dragon Boat Run Carlow 2019
Well, they survived it… in fact, they did a lot more than survive it! The Plurabelles were the fastest all-female team at the 10K Dragon Run in Carlow on Sunday, 24th March 2019. How’s that for an amazing result?! The Plurabelles came in 4th overall, with a time of 1 hour 46 seconds. The composite team (including many Plurabelles) came in 5th. Well done ladies; you did great! Hopefully the wonderful memories from the day (and the satisfaction of paddling a whopping 10 kilometres) will offset any aches and exhaustion!
Thank you to all concerned. It was a wonderful day.
Christmas Brunch 2018
Christmas Brunch by numbers
- 65 (yes, 65!) hungry Plurabelles catered to a post-training hot Christmas brunch at the clubhouse (bacon, sausages, pudding, etc, followed by delicious homemade cakes and lashings of tea and coffee).
- 50 individual gift bags for women spending Christmas in refuges – each bag contains a towel, a dressing gown, fluffy socks and a showel gel
- 40 of the gift bags filled within just 24 hours of the call going out to members of the club (how’s that for Plurabelle generosity?!)
- 3 Dublin-based women’s refuges who will receive Christmas gift bags
- 1 AMAZING club!Special thanks to Janet, Ann-Marie and your team who cooked and prepared the food… ‘hostesses with the mostesses’!

Torch of Hope 2018
Over the years, many Plurabelles have benefited from the extraordinary support offered by ARC Cancer Support. The Torch of Hope is more than a fundraiser, it’s an opportunity to show our appreciation to this wonderful Dublin-based voluntary organisation.
So, thank you ARC from the Plurabelles… and well done to our representatives (who posed for photos with the Lord Mayor and also with Christy Dignam from the band Aslan.
Trip to Grainne Mhaol Mayo 2018
A huge thank you to Grainne Mhaol dragon boat club. The paddlers were amazing hosts to the Plurabelles who took a trip westward in early October.
Lough Lannagh near Castebar, Co. Mayo, looked magical on a beautiful, sunny, autumn day as the Plurabelles joined members of Grainne Mhaol for a training session on the water.
