Sunday 10 August was a great day for our club, with three of our members – Katie, Nola and Helen – going through helm training with Julie Doyle of the Irish Dragon Boat Association. Beyza Yaman, from the Dublin Viking Dragon Boat Club, also qualified as a helm. Thanks to the volunteers who crewed the boats and special thanks to Margaret for all the time she has given to help prepare our helm trainees. Part of the training was a capsize in the afternoon, which seems to have been thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
