Barrow Dragon Boat Regatta 2022

12th June 2022

We had two crews competing in the 500m Women’s Race at the 2022 Barrow Dragon Boat Regatta.  We were disappointed not to make the Final but a great day’s racing, nonetheless.  Thank you to the @CorkDragons for joining our Purebelle crew.

Athy Regatta 2022

1st May 2022

Two Plurabelle crews competed in the Athy 2022 Regatta, our first regatta since 2019.  Many of our new members got to experience the excitement of racing for the first time and loved it. The Plurabelle crew came 2nd in the Women’s Final.  In a very exciting finish they were narrowly beaten by Carlow Dragons.
Well done to all the Plurabelles, Purebelles, and to our competitors and many friends in other teams (it’s been such a long time since we met). Thank you to our helms, our captains, our strokes,  supporters and the IDBA.

Spirit of Plurabelle 2022

30th April 2022

Rosemary Welsh was named the recipient of the 2022 Spirit of Plurabelle award (as nominated by club members). The beautiful trophy was presented by Oscar Doyle in memory of his mum Fiona Tiernan, who founded the club.
Rosemary never seeks praise for the tireless work that she undertakes for the club. From maintaining the containers; to refurbishing the memorial bench; erecting the team gazebo at regattas; designing and building a trolley for the boats , and that is only the tip of the iceberg! Rosemary contribution to the club has been immense from day one and she has been ably support by her husband Brian.
Thank you Rosemary for all that you have done for the Plurabelles over the years and congratulations on your very well-deserved award.

Great to see the Plurabelles get together after Saturday training, for the presentation of the Spirit of Plurabelle Award to one of 2020’s recipients, Gina Lyons. Gina, (in pink) receiving her award, kept everyone in touch during lockdown with her quizzes and laughter!

Spirit of Plurabelle 2020 Part III

29th August 2021

The Plurabelle Paddlers bench at Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock was the location today for the presentation of the Spirit of Plurabelle Award to one of this year’s recipients, Tara Byrne. Tara received her award from Chris Barnes. Tara is the latest of this year’s four recipients to be presented with the trophy.

Tara Pilates classes kept us active throughout lockdown.  As well as making us stronger and fitter, they were a wonderful way for club members to stay in touch . Thank you Tara!
