The Plurabelle Paddlers and the Irish Dragon Boat Association hosted the inaugural Dublin Dragon Boat Regatta on 10th and 11th September 2011, in the Grand Canal Dock basin.
The 21 team competing each day included 5 international teams from France and the UK. The local teams, all first time paddlers, came from charities, GAA clubs, canoe clubs, restaurants, rugby clubs etc. Many raising money by participating in the event to support their own charities or sports clubs.
