News & Events

  • AGM done. Tick!

It’s been another busy year for the Plurabelle Paddlers, so there was lots to talk about at the AGM in the club house on Saturday, 21st April.
As well as looking back, the Plurabelles we were also looking forward to what promises to be another exciting year for this vibrant club. Well done and thank you to Margaret, Susan, Margy, the other members of the committee and to the huge array of Plurabelles who do some much voluntary and unseen work for the club. Take a bow ladies!

  • Smiles at our Open Day!

Well, it’s not called a watersport for nothing! It was a wet introduction to dragon boat racing for the 20 or so newbies who braved the weather and arrived at the Grand Canal Dock earlier today for the open day training session. The session was arranged as a result of interest generated by our appearance on Operation Transformation earlier this year.

The open day was a huge success. Not only did the newbies experience the exhilaration of dragon boat racing, but they also got to sample our famous hospitality in the clubhouse afterwards with coffee and lots of delicious cake (see photos of the day on our Pictures & Videos page).

  • Exciting times for Plurabelles

With the delivery of a brand new boat in early April and the resumption of midweek training, it’s an exciting time for Plurabelle Paddlers. Training is set to notch up a gear for the forthcoming regattas in Athy, Carlow and Florence… can’t wait! (You can view photos in the Pictures and Video page)
