Mary’s ‘Showstopper’ Cakes

Is that jingle bells that I hear?!
Believe it or not, Christmas is only a few weeks away (cue panic stations!) Well, fret not…¬†Our own Mary O’Leary was on hand to offer fellow paddlers a demonstration of her fabulous Christmas cake decoration expertise. For one night only, the clubhouse was turned into a Christmas wonderland of beautiful, tasty cakes. Watch out ‘Bake Off’ contestants, Mary’s showstopper festive cakes are just amazing! View photos

News & Events

  • Torch of Hope

Over the years, many Plurabelles have benefited from the extraordinary support offered by ARC Cancer Support. The Torch of Hope is more than a fundraiser, it’s an opportunity to show our appreciation to this wonderful Dublin-based voluntary organisation.

So, thank you ARC from the Plurabelles… and well done to our representatives (who posed for photos with the Lord Mayor and also with Christy Dignam from the band Aslan – view photos). Have you no shame ladies?!

  • Magical Mayo!

A huge thank you to Grainne Mhaol dragon boat club. The paddlers were amazing hosts to the Plurabelles who took a trip westward in early October.

Lough Lannagh near Castebar, Co. Mayo, looked magical on a beautiful, sunny, autumn day as the Plurabelles joined members of Grainne Mhaol for a training session on the water. Simply stunning (view photos).

  • It’s a wrap! 2018 Dublin Hong Kong Dragon Boat Regatta

There are some very sore and weary Plurabelles after the Dublin Hong Kong Dragon Boat Regatta. But while bodies may be wrecked; souls are singing!

Memories of the weekend will stay with us forever. We made new friends, old friendships were rekindled and, of course, there were nail-biting races. There’s even talk that we may have done our fastest 400m – ever!

What a fabulous occasion (view photos here). If the newbie Plurabelles weren’t hooked before, they certainly are now!

We are so proud to be involved with this event, and to show-off the Grand Canal Dock to paddlers who come from near and far. We are also delighted to see the sport that we love so much, develop and thrive in Ireland. It was a lonely spot to be the first dragon boat racing club in the country, but now there are loads of clubs and some serious, serious competition!

Congratulations to all the winners at this year’s regatta. You did great. We’re looking forward to next year already… bring it on!
